Reality Part 2

Here is one of the all around best hardcore compilation's that saw release during the 90's, the fantastic Reality Part 2. If you have no idea what this comp is about, lemme break down the bands to you....
Asshole Parade.Excruciating Terror. Dystopia. Infest. Despise You. Lack Of Interest. Gasp.Suppression. Noothgrush. No Comply. Spazz. Purgatoria. Man Is The Bastard. Capitalist Casualties. Stapled Shut. Enemy Soil. Evolved To Obliteration. Bad Acid Trip. C-###.

19 killer bands, 20 killer songs. I mean, really, this is one of the times where you can have both quality and quantity. Standout tracks, to me, are the Dystopia, Infest, L.O.I., Gasp, Spazz, Noothgrush, and Capitalist Casualties tracks. But listen and decide for yourself. Again, this compilation KILLS.

Judas Priest - "Sad Wings Of Destiny"

I was going through my blog posts today and realized that I have never really made mention of my love for Judas Priest, who are my all time favorite metal band. Let me rectify this situation with the following post. Here is my favorite Priest album, "Sad Wings Of Destiny", from 1976. This album is their transitional album, I think, between the more bar rock-friendly "Rocka Rolla" and the excellently metal "Sin After Sin". And, this album has "Tyrant" AND "The Ripper" on it. So there.

Lack Of Interest - "Trapped Inside"

Life sucks sometimes. You know it, I know it, Lack Of Interest knows it. Knowing this, they decided to write this album. It is 24 songs in under 15 minutes of pissed off, furious, high velocity punk rock with what sounds to be a pit-bull on vocals.

I've often heard the great argument...Infest vs. Lack Of Interest....you know who wins?

we do, because BOTH bands kill.

Face Down In Shit - "S/T LP"

Here is Face Down In Shit's self titled 2001 LP. I heard this when it was released and it blew me away with its mixture of fierce hardcore and abrasive stoner metal. In 2003 my old band Hadaka Matsuri played a show with them in Detroit, at a place called The Trumbleplex, where they let us use their drums and amps to play a short set. needless to say, we probably sounded brutal as shit through their amps. This lp is 8 tracks that will bludgeon you. Fire one up for this one, folks.

Poison Idea - The Early Years

By request of Adam Brewer, of Globsters fame, (and if you haven't checked that out yet, you're missing serious greatness) here is The Early Years cd from Poison Idea. I shouldn't have to say anything about Poison Idea, but this cd is a compilation of demo and live tracks from, well, P.I.'s early years. So it goes without saying, pretty essential. Nice faux "Anarchy In The U.K." intro too.

Gasp - Drome Triler Of Puzzle Zoo People

Hey everybody, I'm back, and it seems that thanks to Aesop over at Cosmic Hearse that i have some new followers. so thanks Aesop, and thanks to you, new followers. i hope you like the stuff i post.

anyways, here is some Gasp for you all. To me, Gasp never got the recognition they deserved. For the uninitiated, they play hardcore with more than a touch of psychedelia and chaos. I love this record. There is a discography floating around somewhere, GET IT!!

No Fucker - "Maelstrom Of Decay" 7"

Yes, I know I keep slacking and not posting. well, sometimes i just don't know what to put up here, what to say, etc. I'll try to do better, but I'm not gonna promise anything.

Anyways, here is a 7" thats been on pretty heavy rotation here at Casa de Scummified. It is a 5 song assault from my friend Jesse and his band No Fucker. They released this 7", the "Conquer The Innocent" 7", a split 7" with the mighty Disclose, a demo, and maybe something else? They also had a song covered by Wolf Eyes and had their name mentioned in Spin once (hah!).

I love this record. check it out, maybe you will too.

Olho Seco - Olho Por Olho

Here is Olho Seco's first "full length", the insane "Olho Por Olho". Olho Seco were a Brazilian punk band who ventured more into grind territory with this release. They released some 7 inches, appeared on the legendary "Welcome To 1984" comp that M.R.R. put out, and kick ass. that's about all i can tell you. this album is 14 songs in 12:41. ear blasting grind punk noise!
