Funeral Oration, a legendary band from Holland, are one of those bands that I always dismissed, mainly because of all those Hopeless Records pop-ska-punk compilations, but I now realize the error of my ways. Here is their 7 song EP from 1984, "Shadowland". the first 4 songs are amazing fast melodic hardcore with great vocals and stick in your head choruses, and the last 3 songs are more Bauhaus than Black Flag, if you know what i mean. this is an amazing release, and is highly recommended. i have been wearing it out for weeks now. if "live in lies" isn't one of the best punk songs ever, then I give up.

Mental Shock - '09 Demo
Here is Mental Shock's 2009 demo. Mental Shock was a short lived band, playing 3-4 shows and recording this as our only legacy. M.S. was dave doing vocals, alex on guitar, neal on bass, and me on drums. this band was short lived because it was hard to practice, me and alex live in kingsport, dave in johnson city, and neal lived in virginia, which was where our practice space was also, and it was just hard to make the commute all the time. but here is this, 10 tracks, one instrumental, and one napalm death cover, as Mental Shock's lasting legacy.
we also recorded 3 songs in a studio but we STILL haven't gotten these from the guy who recorded them....if we ever get those i'll post them up here also. but for now.....

Forward features members of Insane Youth AND the mighty Death Side, most notably the vocalist, who is one of my favorite punk vocalists ever. this ep shreds, and you're doing yourself a favor by getting it now. classic burning spirits hardcore punk fucking rock!

Tenebrae In Perpetuum - "Onori Funebri Rituali"

Here is the debut full length from Italy's now defunct Tenebrae In Perpetuum. my italian is very rusty, but I'm guessing their name translates roughly to "darkness for eternity" or something similar, which is a great name for this band, who offer up eight tracks of trebly-guitar-tremolo picked hyper speed black metal that is cold and grim as anything from scandinavia.

Dissociative Rhythm Madness - Demo 2009

Here is the demo from northeast tennessee's own Dissociative Rhythm Madness, or D.R.M. for short. it contains 6 heavy crust numbers. this band is sadly broken up now. they played around town and around northeast tn for a while, but only lasted maybe less than a year. i'm pretty sure this is their only recorded output. features members of the scams, mind sludge, mental shock, and axehandle mountain.

Globsters - Skull Fuck Music (Demo 2010)
hot on the heels of his first 7", Hazard, KY's own immortal Adaam Hussein has released this, a 6 songs in under 7 minutes barrage of totally fucking awesome, couldn't give a shit what you think punk rock. this time around, it even sounds like Adaam has got a band behind his screamings about how he isn't afraid of freddy krueger, but hes absolutely terrified of you. features a Peter Stubb cover and a live version of "Pretty Women". fuckin' a, i love this shit.
Morbid Saint - "Spectrum Of Death"

Here is Morbid Saint's debut album, the absolutely pulverizing "Spectrum Of Death". I personally think this band should have been huge, I guess their location (Sheboygan, Wisconsin) kinda stopped them from being huge. but fuckin' a, this album delivers. a non stop riff assault, crushing drums, and a pissed, insane vocalist make this a fucking winner.

I'm back!!
hello friends, sorry I took such a long time updating this. work has been shitty, i've been generally lazy and haven't really wanted to do much of anything other than get stoned and read comics...but I figured I had been neglecting this site for too long. Last night I went to see Ludicra in Knoxville, and if you haven't seen them yet, make sure you do. the high point of the night was getting to hang out and shoot the shit with Aesop, the drummer and the catalyst behind Cosmic Hearse, who turns out to be just as fucking awesome a person as he is on his blog. see the picture up above? we give everything two thumbs down. all joking aside, Ludicra killed. i picked up their s/t 3 song 12" which looks awesome, check it out:
here's a few pictures from last night, all of them taken by my lady, Lindsay.

here is lindsay and aesop, taken by me:
so, just wanted to thank everyone for not giving up on this blog. I've received some new followers and i intend to keep everyone happy. the nest post will be some music, i promise.
also, BIG ups to fellow blogger Abdul Alhazred, who runs this site for posting my Lovecraftian black metal recordings. his blog is full of awesomeness, so definitely check it out.
